OPTIONS WITHIN THE PROGRAMME

Participation in this modular, part-time programme entails extensive distance learning activities in conjunction with periods of direct contact teaching.

There are up to twelve taught modules, of which Module 1 is normally compulsory, the remaining eleven being optional enabling delegates to make their individual choice of a programme of study, which is most appropriate to their situation; they will be assisted in this by their Director of Studies.

Delegates have the option of studying for one of the following academic awards:

  • Individual Module
  • Postgraduate Certificate: 4 modules
  • Postgraduate Diploma: 8 modules*
  • MSc: 8 modules plus project

Each module carries 15 credits at level M. It is a requirement that delegates shall undertake all of the assignments, assessed exercises and examination within each module.

*a mini-project is required in place of one of the modules at the universities of Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester. Further details are available in the Programme Regulations.

* Seven taught modules plus a mini-project module will be compulsory for Diploma Delegates registered at Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle
